Dining out at Disney

in Disney World, Orlando Florida, Restaurants

Disney is home to a truly diverse selection of fantastic restaurants. Your Disney Holidays in 2012are going to be memorable for helping you to forget that the real world exists, and the dining experiences at Disney are no exception. As you might expect in such a magical place, there are many restaurants that offer far more than just food, with full dining experiences common-place here. You can have a feast at Cinderella’s Castle, dine with your favourite Disney characters, or have an authentic international dining experience at Epcot.

Some of the highlights at DisneyWorld include:

Cinderella’s Castle (Magic Kingdom)

One of the most magical dining experiences imaginable, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Royal Table, with Disney’s Princesses stopping by to say hello, sign autographs, and pose for pictures.  A hugely popular choice for birthday parties.

50’s Prime Time Cafe (MGM Studios)

A 50’s themed café where guests sit in a kitchen and are served all-American classics like pot roast and chicken pot pie. In keeping with the 50’s theme, servers may scold you for a lack of manners (like putting your elbows on the table or not eating your vegetables), but it’s all in the name of good fun!

Victoria and Albert’s (Grand Floridian Resort)

Named for Queen Victoria and her Prince Consort, Albert, this is the most formal restaurant in Disney, characterized by its elegant decor and music. With a set menu of six courses presented impeccably by a world-class team, this is a perfect dining experience for a special occasion, like an anniversary.

Boma (Animal Kingdom)

Serving a range of African-inspired cuisine, ranging from meats and soups to salads and dips, this is an excellent dining experience for people who like to sample everything, with plenty of options for fussier eaters, too.

Special mention has to be given to Epcot, where the international dining offerings are diverse and seek to provide a truly cultural experience to its diners. A lot of effort has been put into making the restaurants as authentic as possible, and you can sample all manner of cuisine in the international village. Pavilions are country-themed, and restaurants are housed within.

Les Chefs de France

An acclaimed, elegant restaurant featuring seasonal dishes prepared in the manner of nouvelle French cuisine.

La Cava del Tequila

Older kids (21+ years) can enjoy the history of the Mexican drink while enjoying tapas dishes.

Nine Dragons Restaurant

Authentic Chinese cuisine hailing from five Chinese provinces prepared using both traditional and contemporary techniques.

Restaurant Marrakesh

Situated within a sultan’s palace, this restaurant serves Moroccan classics and belly-dancing throughout the night. A true taste of the Mediterranean!
